The Formosa Project has a master plan covering an area of more than 2,025 hectares and has been developed in Phase I with a total investment of over USD 9.4 billion. According to the plan, the investor will increase the total investment value of Phase II to USD 28.8 billion. On this occasion, the investor also expressed its desire for support from the Government of Vietnam in implementing the water supply project for the industrial zone to ensure it proceeds according to schedule.

In 2010, with the efforts of the Department of Overseas Labor Management under the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and labor export enterprises, 86,000 workers were sent to work abroad, exceeding the set target.
