(Ha Tinh 24h) - As part of his visit and working trip to Ha Tinh, this morning (July 16), Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai and the Government delegation inspected the construction progress of projects in Vung Ang Economic Zone.

Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vo Kim Cu and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Thieu Dinh Duy accompanied the Deputy Prime Minister during the inspection. According to the report of Vung Ang Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (the project investor), to date, the total completed volume for the canal component has reached nearly 25,000 m3 of excavation and embankment, meeting the planned schedule; for the Lac Tien spillway dam component, contractors are focusing on excavating the foundation pit and constructing the diversion wall foundation; for the tunnel component, 37 m of tunnel has been excavated.
Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai highly appreciated the investor’s efforts in mobilizing capital, stating that in the context of limited state budget resources, this is an effective public-private partnership model. The Deputy Prime Minister also requested contractors to maximize the deployment of machinery, equipment, and manpower to organize construction in three shifts; and to give top priority to construction quality supervision and occupational safety.

Visiting the construction site of the Son Duong Formosa Ha Tinh Steel and Deep-Water Port Complex Project, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai highly appreciated Formosa Group’s capacity in implementing the project in Ha Tinh. The Deputy Prime Minister requested that, in the coming time, Formosa Group continue to concentrate maximum resources and accelerate the project schedule.
Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai and the Government delegation conducted a field inspection of the construction site of the Son Duong Formosa Ha Tinh Steel and Deep-Water Port Complex Project. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that Formosa Group should strengthen inspection and supervision to ensure construction quality; during the plant construction and equipment installation stage, there will be a large number of workers, so it is necessary to coordinate well with local authorities to ensure security and order and maximize safety for workers.
Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai and the Government delegation listened to reports from the investor and contractors on the construction progress of Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant.
Visiting and speaking with officials and workers of contractors constructing Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai was pleased to learn that the installation of Unit No. 1 has been completed and other auxiliary components are being implemented according to schedule. The investor and contractors are striving to ignite Boiler No. 1 by September 1, 2013 and conduct trial power generation in December.
Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai highly appreciated the coordination and support of authorities at all levels, departments, agencies, and sectors of Ha Tinh Province for domestic and foreign investors, which have promptly helped resolve difficulties and obstacles, enabling investors to implement projects smoothly.
The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that, in the coming time, with many large projects being implemented, Ha Tinh will become an industrial center and economic hub of the North Central region and the whole country.
