During a working visit to Ha Tinh, on the morning of April 28, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited several projects in the Vung Ang Economic Zone. Accompanying the Deputy Prime Minister were Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Thanh Binh and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Kim Cu.

The Formosa Project has a master plan covering an area of more than 2,025 hectares and has been developed in Phase I with a total investment of over USD 9.4 billion. According to the plan, the investor will increase the total investment value of Phase II to USD 28.8 billion. On this occasion, the investor also expressed its desire for support from the Government of Vietnam in implementing the water supply project for the industrial zone to ensure it proceeds according to schedule.
Deputy Prime Minister Meets with Formosa Leadership
During his visit to the Formosa Integrated Steel Complex and Son Duong Deep-Sea Port, he witnessed thousands of workers actively working on the construction site even during the April 30 and May 1 holidays with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm. Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his pleasure and highly appreciated the province’s management and leadership capacity, the efforts of the investor, and commended the dedication of experts, engineers, and workers who remained committed to the construction site and continuously accelerated the project progress.
Deputy Prime Minister Visits Vung Ang Thermal Power Plant
The Deputy Prime Minister also acknowledged the investor’s proposal and informed that the Government had officially approved Ha Tinh Province to implement the water supply project for the Vung Ang Industrial Zone with a total investment of approximately VND 819 billion.
At the same time, he requested Ha Tinh to continue promoting its proactive and innovative spirit, strengthen management and administration, and assist investors in accelerating project implementation. This should be based on building a model industrial zone with a workforce demonstrating scientific and efficient working practices, healthy lifestyles, maintaining public security and order, and ensuring environmental sanitation for both the industrial zone and surrounding residential areas.
