Vietnam Expressway Corporation and the Cienco 5 – Cienco 1 contractor consortium have commenced construction of Package No. 1 of the Da Nang – Quang Ngai Expressway Project.
Construction Package No. 1 is 8 km long, passing through Hoa Vang District, Da Nang City, and part of Dien Ban District, Quang Nam Province. The route starts at Km0+000, intersecting with National Highway 14B at Tuy Loan, and ends at Km8+000 in Dien Tien Commune, Dien Ban District, Quang Nam Province.
This is the fifth package under JICA-funded capital, implemented by the consortium of Civil Engineering Construction Corporation No. 5 and Civil Engineering Construction Corporation No. 1, with a total value of over VND 2,000 billion.
The expressway is designed according to Type A expressway standards, with a design speed of 120 km/h. In Phase 1, the road will be built with a width of 25.5 meters, including 4 traffic lanes and 2 emergency stopping lanes. Package No. 1 is 8 km long and includes 7 bridges, 9 culverts serving local residents, and 35 drainage culverts of various types. The project is expected to be completed in March 2017.
Upon completion, the Da Nang – Quang Ngai Expressway will play an important role in promoting the development of the Central Key Economic Region, enhancing connectivity, supporting socio-economic development, national security and defense, and improving the living standards of people nationwide in general, and in Da Nang, Quang Nam, and Quang Ngai in particular.
